Local Libraries

Local libraries - this is an opportunity to speak to the community about a specific topic. The topic varies each year and will also depend upon the audience that we will be speaking to. At each of these events a presentation about the MetBPA is given with the showing of the film "A movement in time". At the end of the film there is further discussion about what we do and why we do what we do.

The audience will always speak about issues that are relevant to them and want to know what the MetBPA can do for them. At each of the sessions it is made quite clear that the MetBPA does not have the answers. The solutions to the problems have to be a collective from different organisations and the community. Everyone is encouraged to join local groups/councils so that they can have a say in how the services that they have access are run to their expectations. They are also encouraged to become school governors so that they have a say in how their children are educated.

These sessions are very popular and give the MetBPA the opportunity to know from the grassroots what the community are feeling and saying about the police and what they require.
